Where to Buy Bird Food & Supplies on Long Island

There are plenty of choices from finding bird food and supplies on Long Island, such as big box store such as Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply and many small and medium retail locations.

Most of these store are just retail locations that will provide access to items but no really other assistance with the hobby. I would recommend avoiding some of these location for several reasons.

A couple of my favorite stores that I reguarly visit are Wild Bird Unlimited (WBU) and Wellwood Pigeon Store. These stores provide excellent diverse range products, and they are staffed with knowledgable employees that will help you with the wild bird watching and supplies.

There are 3 WBU on Long Island and they are the most specialized of all stores for wild bird supplies, bird food, and gifts. I have found their bird food is of the highest quality and they carry multiple varities of bird food. You will find plenty of single product bags such as sunflower seeds, safflower seeds, corn, nyjer seed, peanuts but I find their mixes are the best I have seen.
